This year I’m not with my mother for Mother’s Day. We are still in the middle of final exams at my university, and I’ve got loads of grading to do before I can commence my summer plans. But I’m thinking of her, and also thinking of mothers all over the world today. And if you are, too, you might be thinking this:
What can I give a mom this year?
Yes, I know, it’s almost Mother’s Day. But, in my experience, moms are very patient, especially about last-minute gifts. So here are some ideas, culled from the internet, for your potential buying pleasure:
Jewelry is a classic gift for anyone, which includes mothers. And Good Morning America wants to make sure that sports-loving moms aren’t left out. If you are searching for a more practical sporty gift for Mom this year, here are a few options from the same GMA folks:
Another gift list is bullish on the Hypersphere Mini, which they are touting “For superior pain relief and massage”.
GMA also wants to make sure that the mom in your life has the ability to bring her salad when she’s on the go to her gym, hiking trip, tennis match, yoga class or Olympic weight lifting trial. Enter the $70 Yeti insulated salad bowl:
One gift I don’t recommend, as this strikes me as sending a not-so-positive message for the mom in your life, but you do you:
Perhaps the best Mother’s Day gift advice comes from REI, so I leave you with their wise words:
For any mom (outdoorsy or not): a handwritten card or thoughtful note. This truly is the best gift, as it shows thoughtfulness and care. Whether purchasing items or not, deliver it with a note of some some sort. Remember: it’s the thought that counts.
Happy Mother’s Day, everyone!
