Making Space 2024: December 11

Hey Everyone!

I hope you are doing ok with your space making activities and that you have time to pause for a few deep breaths today – maybe you could try consciously breathing into all four sides of your ribcage and see if that feels spacious for you. (it always helps me!)

Today, I’m inviting you to consider your future self again.

Please think about some event that you have coming up in the next few weeks and consider something that you could do now to make things easier for yourself on that day.

If you always forget to pick up ice, could you pick up some today or tomorrow and pop it into your freezer?

If you need sticky notes for that planning session, could you look for them now and make a note of their location in your calendar?

If you always feel a bit stressed before heading out with a crowd, could you explore some ideas to help you feel more relaxed on that day?

No matter what you choose, doing a little pre-work like this can really help take away some of the challenges and/or frustrations from these future events long before they even start.

And yes, I think I planned to talk about managing expectations this week and that invitations doesn’t exactly fit but I’m rolling with it. I mean, if you are expecting to be more stressed or expecting to forget something and you make a change now to help reduce that then you are sort of managing an expectation, right? 😉

Anyway, I hope that your space-making efforts are helping you overall and here are our suggested videos for today.

Remember, I am NOT the boss of you. YOU are the boss of you and you can choose how and when to create the space you need today.

Wishing you ease, my space-making friends!

I don’t know about you but my knees have been a bit cranky with me lately so I thought we could try this 5 Min Yoga for Knee Strengthening * Stop Knee Pain! from Yoga with Joelle for our movement practice today.

Still image is of the instructor, a woman with white skin and dark hair who is wearing exercise clothes and smiling at the camera. She is on a red yoga mat on a marble floor and she has one leg in a full, low kneeling position while the other leg is out the the side, knee toward the ceiling, the ball of her foot on the mat and her heel is raised. The title of the video is on the right side of the screen.

And, for our mindfulness practice, let’s give this 5 min Guided Mediation for Acceptance from SarahBethYoga a whirl.

The still image is a fairly close-up photo of the instructor, a woman with white skin and dark hair who is wearing a tank top. The photo just shows the top third of her body and she has her eyes closed and she looks focused. The background is blurred out but it appears to be a yoga studio with a mat, a plant and a shelf with ornaments and plants. The title of the video is overlaid on the image.
