Inspired by Gretchen Rubin’s happiness project 😃
This year, Gretchen is asking us to do three things. First, choose a word of the year. Mine is ‘adventure.’ Second, commit to writing for 2, 4, or 24 minutes a day. I’m on it. Third, choose 24 things you want to do in 2024.
Here’s my list:
1. Go canoe camping. 🛶
2. Spend more time in the Snipe and do some practicing, not just racing. ⛵
3. Go bike packing. 🚲
4. Hike some sections of the Bruce Trail. 🥾
5. Swim in the Great Lakes. 🏊
6. Sleep in a yurt in the winter time. ⛺
7. Do more Vegan Mondays. 🥗
8. Try a new class a month at the gym. 💃🏻
9. Spend more time at the beach. 🏖️
10. Read two books a month. 📘
11. Do something, anything, even if it’s just giving money, to see that we don’t elect a conservative federal government and reelect a conservative provincial government. 💸
12. Get a matching tattoo with my youngest child. 🦎
13. Go to church more often. ⛪
14. Practice lane swimming. 👙
15. Dance! 🩰
16. Do more things with my adult kids. (Kids, you’ve been warned.) 🎦
17. Sneak lots of mini-adventures into my year. You don’t need a week or even a weekend to do something fun and adventurous. 🏆
18. Play more games, hosting games nights with friends. ♦️
19. Buy less stuff/get rid of stuff. 🗑️
20. Eat more vegetables. 🍆
21. Ride outside more often. 🚴
22. Ride some of the bike rally. 🚴
23. Keep the house more ready for guests. Also, invite more guests. 🎉
24. Have a fun 60th birthday party, which will include lots of the bloggers, feminist philosophers, Guelph friends, and friends of the blog. 🎂
Tell me, what else should I have done? Doesn’t everything die at last, and too soon? Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?
