The earliest sunset in Guelph was 4:44 pm, a few days ago, and today it’s at 4:45 pm.
How can that be? How can the afternoons be getting longer?
It’s not the shortest day of the year yet. That’s not until the winter solstice on December 21st.
The sunrises are still getting later, but starting about a week before the solstice, the afternoons get longer. There’s still less light overall but more in the afternoons, which is when I most miss it.
I’m celebrating. Enjoy!
