The dark is coming…

Daylight saving time 2017 in Canada began at 3:00 AM on Sunday, March 12 and ends at 2:00 AM on Sunday, November 5.

That’s this weekend and we have mixed feelings about it at the blog.

Tracy’s in favour. She’s looking forward to it. See her post Why I like “falling back” She wants her light mornings back.

She says the alternative is not have daylight savings at all. I say the alternative is to always have it, to keep it year round.

I’m opposed. For me, it’s all about riding home in the dark. Ugh. See The night is (soon to be) dark and full of terrors

This year also, when it comes to seasonal depression, Trump could be making it worse.

  1. Ugh, I hate falling back. But, to be fair, I mostly just hate the fact that winter is so dark. This year, I’m in a situation where I can be flexible with my schedule, so I’m trying to spend more time outside in the morning & afternoon so I don’t hate the dark evenings quite as much. But I will miss evening visits to local parks!
